Well its been yet another spectacular day with Heritage Tours & Safaris, yesterday while out on Safari to Hluhluwe Umfolozi Game Reserve our lead ranger Trevor was fortunate enough to witness the Big 5 with an added extra of witnessing 2 seperate Leopards.
Departing early morning from St Lucia, Trevors first encounter was Elephant, followed by Buffalo, Leopard and then Lion. On his departure out of the reserve he was once again fortunate to have a slendid sighting of yet another Leopard.
From May to the end of October remains fo the best time to venture into Hluhluwe Umfolozi Game Reserve as this is the time when the water sources become less and the long grass starts to die, making it easier to spot the animals. As a rule cats are witnessed primarily in the early hours and late afternoon, however this seems even more difficult with the elusive Leopard. Thus two seperate sightings during daylight hours is really a highlight.
While in St Lucia our Hippo & Croc Boat Safaris also proved to be magnificent with amazing African sunsets and glorious up close animal sightings.
Numerous new born sightings of Hippo have once again been taking place with an ubundance of Crocodiles roaming the Estuary for a easy meal.
St Lucia is once again bursting at its seems with occupancy, the weather has played along with superb conditions.
