Best Ever Experience !
Yes we were lucky, before breakfast we saw elephant, zebra, eland, giraffe, hippo, water buffalo, warthog (and hoglets), rhino and sadly a dead lion. Heritage tours did exactly what they promised with Crocs anf hippos in the evening, all sorts in the morning and then a night drive to catch them eating.
Amazing Safari
Booked a full day game drive called "big 5 tour". Saw 4/5, without the leopard. But our guide David made us having a great day. He picked us up very early at five a.m.. then we went to the park in an open 4x4 car. Just a few minutes after we had entered the gate he'd shown us a black rhino.
Boat Safari
We booked a hippo boat cruise, and got so much more.
Our guide (Dennis) was very knowledgeable and answered all questions anyone had.However, for us birdies, it was a true surprise to have a guide who shares this passion. Magnificent..
Excellent
We thoroughly enjoyed our night drive with Heritage Safari. Our guide was very knowledgeable, especially with additional info on birds. We appreciated that he made the effort to stop for smaller animals as well.
Unbelievable
My friend and I went on a 3 days/2 night safari tour. This included a hippo croc cruise, brush safari, night safari, and a beach/brush tour. I saw SO many animals and was able to see some up very close such as rhinos, zebras, and kudus! The guides were very knowledgable. I adored being out in the nature and able to observe the animals in their surroundings. I only wish I saw more. They also included meals for the brush and brush/beach safari. It was absolutely DELICIOUS and they were able to accommodate my gluten and dairy allergies! I was sad to leave on the last day, wanting to stay longer in both the parks especially at Cape Vidal (one of the most beautiful beaches I've ever seen).

Zululand Package
Just come back from an exceptional safari with Heritage. We stayed at Heritage House in St Lucia, which is managed by the excellent Thea von Plaster whom, with her staff, made our experience so enjoyable! Breakfast is a delight, the honesty box, and free homemade rusks and muffins went down well. She went out of her way to make our experience great. As we took over the 4 double bedrooms in the main house, we had it virtually to ourselves. The tour guides and transit drivers were all knowledgeable, fun and experts at their job - especially John whom we did several different tours with. We also bumped into five hippos walking down the street on our last night which just added to the experience. With this safari package, we saw an exceptional amount of animals and birds, including the Martial eagle and even glimpsed whales swimming off the coast. This safari package gives you a lot to enjoy! I highly recommend it!
Excellent Experience
We booked a four day Safari experience with Heritage Day Tours and had a great time, which I would recommend to anyone visiting the area.
4 Night Package
We did a 4 night organized package and Dumi was our guide for most of our activities.
We did a full day safari to Hluhluwe/iMfolozi, where Dumi was a great guide, going over and beyond. Not only was he an informative guide with info on animals etc. but he even offered to assist another couple whose tour agency didn't turn up! He was also a great cook, cooking us a lovely braai with steak done to perfection.
We also did a day trip through iSimangaliso park to Cape Vidal with Dumi as our guide. The highlight was Dumi parking the vehicle in a way so that we could view Rhino and a buffalo up close for some great photos. We also had a Rhino come right to the vehicle which was awesome!
Dumi was also our driver/escort for the day when we visited the Emdoneni cheetah project and the Veyane cultural village. We appreciated Dumi answering all our questions whether about the wildlife, life in St Lucia or about the Zulu people, he was open to answering them all and that was great. He is a truly humble guy and we enjoyed spending time with him especially since we ended up being the only couple with him for the day- felt like a private tour!
It was really special having someone from the local area as our guide- thanks Dumi!
Other activities on the package included the estuary cruise to see the hippos and crocodiles and a night safari to see Leopard (unfortunately we didn't see any) but saw lots of other animals.
Thanks for the lovely 4-night package tour, everything is well organized. People are lovely, accommodation is amazing and we truly recommend this for other couples (and the package can be tailored should you want to do more game drives, etc.)
