2 Night Safari Package - Overview
Overnight in South Africa's very first world heritage site, St Lucia. Home to the largest free-roaming Hippo population in South Africa. Stay At Heritage House (or equivalent) this 4-star BNB, offers you the ideal accommodation from which to explore both by safari and foot.
All tours and safaris depart directly from the BNB, so there is no need for you to drive anywhere. All Safaris and Tours are conducted in Open Game Drive Safari Vehicles. All rangers have years of experience within the parks and will undoubtedly get you to the best areas possible.
Day 1
Please note that we offer a transfer option for clients wanting to be picked up in Durban (King Shaka International or surrounding areas).
Set off on a majestic 2 Hour Hippo Boat Cruise on one of the largest estuaries in Africa, witness resident Hippos, Nile Crocodiles, and an abundance of birdlife. Shoreline Boat Safaris offers a smaller yet more exclusive 15-seater vessel ideal for up-close sightings. This evening you will set off on a 3 Hour Sunset Safari and go in search of numerous wildlife species such as Leopard, Rhino, Buffalo, elephants, and much much more.

Day 2
Big 5 Safari into the oldest proclaimed game reserve in Africa, the Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park. Board the Game Drive Vehicle and set off on a 45-minute transfer to the park. Once at the park, your ranger will give you an introduction to the park and then get you to the best areas within the reserve. This 8-9 Hour safari includes a bush breakfast and traditional South African Braai with refreshments. All you need to do is sit back and relax.
Late afternoon would be the ideal time to take a walk into town and enjoy some of the curio markets as well as tropical fruits on offer.

Day 3
It's a later start to the day so enjoy a scrumptious breakfast and then head off to the iSimangaliso Wetland Park (Eastern Shores) on a half-day tour of wildlife and snorkeling. Snorkeling is tide and weather-dependent. This park is home to the African Big 4 as well as pristine beaches as far as the eye can see. Picnic lunch is included.
After the tour, you will be transferred back to the Bnb where we bid you farewell, or if you have opted for the transfer we will transfer you back to Durban.

What to pack and expect on this 2 Night Safari Package?
Zululand can become quite warm during the summer months, light breathable clothing and a light rain jacket is recommended. Cumfy shoes, camera, hat, and sunblock. Winter months are mild and perfect a light jacket is advisable. You will see some amazing and incredible wildlife so don't forget your camera.
Your accommodation will be within walking distance to town so need to drive around. Keep an eye out for the Hippos that wander the streets at night, please always keep your distance. The town has a host of varying restaurants so get in early as the sun sets and enjoy the Zulu Dancers.
St Lucia is a small town with one main road and then a residential area. The wildlife roam freely so expect some amazing surprises.

I truly cannot recommend this establishment and the activities enough. We were booked into the 3 night 4 day package and my only regret is not spending more time. We booked this back in 2019 and at no stage has there been a problem with alterations, false starts, etc, and what is worse, to my eternal shame, they insisted on refunding for an activity we canceled and I vowed to post it back and forgot. I will return it next year when I bring the family.

An incredible and unbelievable experience! I did the 7-night Safari package and my guide was Jonathan Webster. Very knowledgeable and makes the whole experience amazing. Furthermore, for the Isimangliso Safari, I did this with Senzo and I also did a Zulu cultural tour with Xolani. Both Senzo and Xolani made the experience great and explained a lot. The package offered by Heritage Tours is amazing and you really get to explore a large part of Northern KwaZulu Natal with its diverse wildlife and plant species, as compared to being stuck in one lodge. I will definitely do this again and they have amazing accommodation at heritage house with a wonderful breakfast!! This is definitely value for money!!!
We did a 3-night package which included meals, accommodation, entrance fees, an afternoon game drive, a full day safari, a safari and snorkeling at Cape Vidal, and a boat cruise!
We stayed at the wonderful @Heritage House, which was comfortable and luxurious, and because it only has 4-5 rooms, you are well cared for by the lovely manageress, Thea. Breakfasts were really enjoyable!
A big thank you to Bev from Heritage Tours who assisted with our booking (which included communication lasting over a year due to covid). We had to reschedule a few times and we were always accommodated with ease. Thank you! The package was also put together very thoughtfully and we were well guided to ensure a pleasant experience.
