Six on Safari Daily Departures
Heritage Tours & Safaris operates a fleet of Open Game Drive Safari Vehicles, we depart daily into either the Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park or iSimangaliso Wetland Park.
This Full-Day Big 5, Maximum Six on Safari into the Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park is primarily focused on friends or families wanting to experience the very best that the area has to offer on safari. We depart from St Lucia KwaZulu Natal early morning and we will gladly pick you up from your accommodation should you be in the area for a complimentary transfer. Alternatively, you can meet us at the Nyalazi Gate (Imfolozi Park) which is on the southern side of the park.
Should you like to meet us at the gate, please note that there is ample complimentary parking at the gate.
Our Safaris are all conducted in-house and they are not subcontracted out to any other safari operators. You are assured that we do not have any hidden charges nor hidden addons or commissions.
Six on Safari Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park Wildlife
The Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park is the oldest proclaimed game reserve in Africa, home to the African Big 5, (Rhino both black & White species, Buffalo, Lion, Leopard, and Elephants), Cheetahs, and Wild Dogs to mention but only the larger predators.
The park covers an area of 96000 Hectares and is truly an amazing park to visit while in the area of KwaZulu Natal. We predominantly offer this Six on Safari into the lower Imfolozi Part of the Park. This is due to it being larger in size, less congested, and the fact that the bush is less dense in certain areas making for some tremendous wildlife sightings. The lower part of the Park is also known for its Wild Dog sightings. Did you know that it was this park that single-handedly saved the Rhinos from near extinction in the early '60s when less than 200 Rhinos roamed the planet?
Should you be more than Six Clients, well that's no problem we will add some more vehicles.

Six on Safari Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park Bush Catering, Whats on the Menu
On this Full-Day Safari into the park, all catering is included. Enjoy a delightful Bush Breakfast and of course a true authentic South African Braai (BBQ). Refreshments and bottled water is included.
The bush breakfast consists of the following:
- Nescafe Coffee, Rooibos Tea (Traditional South African brewed Tea) & Fruit Juice
- Rusks, Muffins, Muesli, Greek Yogurt/Honey & Fruit Salad
Traditional South African Braai Lunch
- Rump Steak & Boerewors (beef sausage) grilled on an open fire, Heritage's Famous Noodle Salad, Carrot Salad, Cheese & Crackers, Chocolate Bite and of course Bottled Water and Fruit Juice.
With an aim of trying to be as eco friendly as possible we ask that all clients assist us in refraining from disposing any plastic products while in the Game Parks.

Should you be overnighting in St Lucia (Need Accommodation? Click on this Link) then your personal ranger will fetch you at your accommodation at 05:00 am. You will then travel towards the Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park (Nyalazi Gate), travel time of approximately 45 minutes. Please note that the Open Game Drive Safari Vehicles have hard tops, roll-down sides, and blankets are available for the journey.
Should you opt to meet us at the Nyalazi Gate, please would you be so kind as to be at the gate at 06:00 am. We will provide you with the travel directions. The entrance to the park has sufficient complimentary parking for your vehicle.
Your ranger will offer you a brief introduction & safety talk to the Park and then you are off into one of the most incredible Parks on the continent. It's time to sit back and enjoy some magnificent wildlife out and about in the bush. Your ranger has years of experience within this specific Park and without wasting any time he or she will get you to the best areas.
En route south, you will stop at one of the numerous picnic spots for a bush breakfast and later during the day enjoy a delicious South African Braai (BBQ). All vehicles carry additional coolers with bottled water. To Safari with Only Six is truly the best way to explore this incredible Reserve.

We would like you to have fun, experience the bush like no other, and learn some amazing and interesting facts while out on safari with us. So we would suggest you bring the following along if possible.
- A light jacket should it rain
- Hat and sunblock (during the summer months)
- Comfortable shoes
- Camera if possible, please note that Binoculars are included.
- Comfortable clothing
Please note that the Summer months are pretty hot and humid, so please do wear comfortable clothing.

Friendly, knowledgable, cooks a fab braai and really considerate driving on the off road tracks (really important as we had a couple of 80+ with us). 4 out of the Big 5 seen with Siya fundamental to spotting them. First of all, we would like to give Yam the ranger of Heritage Tours & Safaris a great compliment. He knew exactly where the animals were and otherwise, they could be found via their group app. He had provided a delicious breakfast in the open air and a delicious Skottelbraai for lunch. In addition, his knowledge of animals and nature was very extensive. Interspersed with a wonderful sense of humor. This was a great tour with Lindo who was very knowledgeable of all the animals we came across. My wife and 2 kids will remember this amazing safari experience for sure! We were up close with elephants, rhinos, giraffes, and buffalos and saw a family of cheetahs and some very elusive lions in the bushes...Thank you again Lindo for making this tour so memorable for us. It was a bit cold that day with unfortunately rain but there are warm blankets, ponchos and not to mention binoculars.
The braai was delicious, a big steak and a piece of sausage and bowls with salad.
